How does Rebound Work?

Starting positions for rebound

Game flow:

  • F1 starts with the puck.

  • F1 shoots puck at the net (looking for a goal or a good rebound)

  • If there is a rebound (and puck remains in play), closest player to the puck to shoot the puck or pass the puck to another player.

    • Maximum of one pass can be made by the team before the team is required to take a shot on net.

  • Players reset if the puck is taken out of play. Puck out of play can include any of the following:

    • Puck is in the net — GOAL!

    • Goalie covers, catches or loses the puck in their equipment — Save.

    • Puck leaves the area of play (below the goal line, touches the boards or netting, leaves ice, etc.)

  • When play resets, all players move clockwise by one position.

    • F1 moves to F2, F2 to F3, etc.

Notes (Full game rules coming shortly):

  • Only one (1) puck in play at a time.

  • Absolutely NO SLAPSHOTS allowed.

  • Players can skate and bring back to their original position to retrieve pucks, but must stop skating once they have possession of the puck.

  • If goalie allows a rebound, player with possession must take a shot on net or pass to another player on their team.

    • Default: Maximum of one pass before player is required to take a shot on net.

  • Teams guaranteed four (4) games per registration.

  • Teams will rotate to the next net on the buzzer, after each game. It’s like mini-mites all over again!

For every goal scored on them, our goalies will donate at least $5 to RMHC.

100% of your donations and puck purchases go directly to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska.
